Data Science is a key technology in the 21st century and one of the most active areas both in research and teaching.

The Berlin Journal of Data Science (Berliner Schriften zu Data-Science) is a refereed open-access journal on Data Science. Besides research of theory and application, the journal is particularly devoted to advancing teaching and education of Data Science. The aim of the journal is to provide a platform for dissemination of up-to-date, high-quality results of Data Science research and teaching.

We invite high-quality submissions on all aspects of of Data Science, including, but not limited to

  • Statistics
  • Data analysis
  • Machine learning
  • Natural language processing
  • Big data
  • Robotics
  • Applications of Data Science
  • Theory, method and practice of Data Science teaching
  • Teaching materials
  • Experience reports of Data Science teaching
  • Lessons learned from student Data Science projects

We welcome two kinds of submission:

  • long papers should have 8–12 pages
  • short papers should have 4–6 pages

Submissions must in in English or German. All submissions will be rigorously peer-reviewed. For instructions on how to submit, see here.

All accepted papers will be published under the Creative Commons CC-BY-NC-SA 4.0 License https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0/. Each volumn of the journal will have an ISBN number.

We aim at biannual volumes. For the next volume, we are soliciting submissions till 2019-03-31.
